Plano, Texas, is a city located in the northern part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population of Plano was just over 259,000 people, making it the ninth most populous city in Texas.

Plano, Texas, was established in the 1840s, and at first, the town’s population grew very slowly. In the 1980s, however, several large corporations, including Frito-Lay and J.C. Penney, moved their headquarters to Plano, and the population began to boom. In 1994, Plano, Texas, was recognized as an “All-American City.”. Plano is known for its thriving economy and high standard of living today.

• The Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, which is a 200-acre park with hiking trails, a playground, and picnic areas.

The Interurban Railway Museum – Located in the former downtown Plano train station. The station was built in 1908 and served as a stop on the interurban railway that connected Plano to Dallas. Today, the museum showcases the history of the interurban railway and the role it played in the development of Plano.

The Murphy House – a Victorian-style home built in 1891. The home is one of the oldest remaining structures in Plano and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Collinwood House – a Queen Anne-style home built in 1891. The home is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a museum showcasing the history of Plano.

The Haggard Park –  a historic park located in downtown Plano. The park is home to several historic buildings, including the original Plano schoolhouse and the Plano depot, which served as a stop on the interurban railway.
